Whimsical reflections on Ideology, theology and Politics with a heavy emphasis on the Middle East.
About
Launched with the intention of bringing into harmony disparate thoughts, isolated essays as well as more general statements on ideology, theology and politics, usually pertaining to the Middle East, Chimerical Projections is my latest effort to reduce the clutter of nonsense I regularly dispense on social media, instead, setting sites firmly on the horizon and the infinite number of people waiting to be annoyed and offended.
Of the topics covered that may be of interest are Ideology and it's functions within political as well as popular culture with a particular focus on reactions to the re-orientation towards modernist discourses in the 21st century; theology or religious history with a special interest in heterodox Islamic groups, the "Dandyist" ethos, Individualist philosophies and all things pertinent to the aristocracy of the mind, the politics and history of the Middle East and beyond, namely developments in the Arab world and the history of the Ottoman Empire.
Of more recreational interests, I hope to write the occasional film reviews for lovers of the greatest of the illusory arts.
